I’m Amber Renae and I aim to incorporate yoga as a therapeutic practice alongside other holistic modalities. I began my yoga journey in 2016 and received my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2020 at Gilbert Yoga and a Prenatal Yoga Training in 2021. My style of teaching is focused on creating a mindy, body, heart connection and space for stillness and peace.

In our busy lives, it can be challenging to find time to unwind or incorporate self care but adopting a practice doesn’t have to be difficult. One of the most powerful healing tools I’ve come across in my journey is restorative yoga because it focuses on slowing down the mind. Restorative yoga is a gentle, therapeutic and passive style of yoga that activates the parasympathetic nervous system. This is the part of the nervous system responsible for the “rest and digest” phase of the body. Activating this allows for a deeper sense of relaxation, healing and restoration. The poses in restorative yoga are held for a minimum of 5 minutes to allow the body to relax. Due to its passive and gentle poses, restorative yoga is accessible to all bodies and all levels.

I teach restorative yoga on Wednesdays at 5:30 at the Gilbert location and offer private in-home sessions as well. Step onto the mat and into healing with me!

"We invite in self discovery when we deepen the breath, calm the mind and open the body to the infinite present moment. This is what yoga means to me and I hope to share this with those I teach. " -Amber Renae
