Katie Gentry, LMSW, EMDR Therapist.

Hello! My name is Katie, and my pronouns are she/her. I have been working in the mental health field since 2014 and feel honored to walk alongside others in their life journey. I believe that everyone has a unique outlook on life and deserves to live into their potential. My goal as a therapist is to create space for people to find healing and grow in awareness of their innate strengths and abilities. You are the expert on your life, and together we can work towards healing and wholeness. Therapy can be nerve-wracking and scary, especially if it’s a new thing, and I value the courage it takes to enter into a new space and be vulnerable. I’ve been there too!

My experience includes working in outpatient mental health clinics, foster care, and shelters for those experiencing homelessness or domestic violence. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults and LGBTQ+ clients. I have partnered with people who have experienced various obstacles including trauma, anxiety, depression, difficult transitions, self-injurious behavior, suicidal ideation, dissociation, relational stress, general stress, and processing through faith. I am trained in EMDR and have received additional training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), sand tray therapy, and complex trauma and dissociation. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner and love getting the opportunity to better understand others.

In my free time I love traveling with my husband, eating at new restaurants (or just getting my favorite meal at my usual places), watching the newest TV dramas, cooking, making homemade ice cream, and spending time outside with our dog.

I look forward to partnering with you!
